Spring Convention 2010 - Salzburg, Austria
Invitation
It's with great pleasure that we are inviting you to Europe United's Spring Convention in Salzburg, Austria, on 30 April to 02 May 2010. This exciting event is a perfect opportunity to meet other Europe United members, discuss the party's latest developments and take part in its future activities. The focus of this Convention will lie on our future activities and campaigns for the next two to four years. The Board of Europe United has developed several interesting proposals that'll be presented and discussed at the Convention and we'll also provide plenty of time for members to make their own proposals.

But, as tradition goes at Europe United, the Convention is not all about work. It's also about socialising over a glass or meal on a more informal basis. The organizers have put together a few social events in which you can take part at your leisure. Among these events are a number of dinners at local restaurants, outings in the city's bars and a tour through Salzburg's world-renowned city centre.

In case that some of you prefer lodging elsewhere, there are also many hotels in Salzburg and we would be happy to help you with your choice and reservation (participation fees are lower if you don't stay at the Youth hostel).

The Convention fee will be 45 Euro for Full members and 55€ for Supporters. This includes:
- accommodation for two nights at Young Hotel Salzburg Aigen (breakfast included)
- lunch on Saturday
- the use of a fully equipped conference room at the Hostel for Saturday (whole day) and Sunday morning

In case you don't need accommodation (e.g. if you are staying at another place or live nearby), participation costs are only 15€.

For more information on the Convention venue, please go to http://www.jungehotels.at/oe/youth_hostels/salzburg/salzburg_aigen/.

Getting there
- By plane: Salzburg has an international airport which is served by big carriers and low cost carriers. Have a look at http://engl.salzburg-airport.com/ and at websites like www.opodo.com to search for flight connections.
Furthermore, you may also want to have a look at flights to and from Munich, Linz and Vienna, from where you can take trains to Salzburg.
A shuttle service will be provided if required. If you need to be picked up at the airport, please let us know as soon as possible when you will be arriving.
- By train: There are good train connections to and from Salzburg Main Station from most of Germany, Austria, Italy and the Czech Republic. Just have a look at www.bahn.de and www.oebb.at to search for train connections.
- By car: Coming from Germany, you can take German motorway A8 to get to Salzburg and coming from Austria, you can take Austrian motorways A1 (from Vienna) and A10 (from the South). Please note that Austrian motorways are toll roads and require the purchase of a “vignette” sticker before entering Austria. Especially if coming from Germany, you may want to leave the motorway before entering Austria and travel the short distance from the border to the city centre through the city of Freilassing. If you are travelling from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, you may be able to share a ride with other participants. Please send an e-mail to convention@europeunited.eu for more information.
